"Her water-colored eyes, they shine"

Today I had one of the greatest experiences. I really truly felt God wash over me entirely for the first time in so long.

I was supposed to meet Momma at Panera for lunch and she invited Ani. Ani had to finish up something before they could leave, so I decided to walk around Hobby Lobby while waiting. I pulled into the parking lot and while I was getting my keys and such situated to go in, I saw an older man walking in my direction. He was limping with his cane. I assumed he was walking towards the truck parked next to me.

Boy, was I wrong!!

He stood by my window until I looked up at him. Once I realized I shot him a smile and rolled my window down half way. (It was in a slightly sketchy part of town.)

He asked if he could say a prayer over me and I replied with a smile and a cheerful “Sure!!”

He prayed for me, and he asked God to watch over me and to lay His blessings on me.

When he finished, I thanked him and he said, “Something good is coming your way.” Then he winked at me.

He walked away and I rolled up my window. I looked down at my hands and noticed that my entire body was covered in goose bumps and I was desperately on the verge of tears. But, good tears. Not sad ones.

While thinking about it later in the day, I realized that’s the way we as Christians should always receive those wonderful blessings. Many of us see someone like that walking towards us and we try to ignore them or “runaway”, so to speak. We should receive those people with wide open arms. And I am so very happy that I did. :)

Can’t wait to find out what’s coming my way!! ;)
